Interview with Dusan Maric, Attorney at Maric Law Office

Could you tell us more about Maric Law office?

Dusan: MARIĆ Law Office is one of the largest and oldest law offices in Western Serbia. Founded in January 1994. with its headquarters in Loznica, it continuously provides legal assistance to individuals and legal entities throughout the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The work of the office is reflected in the provision of legal assistance in various areas of law, such as criminal law, civil law (inheritance law, family law, property law), labor law, commercial law, administrative law, misdemeanor law, protection of human rights and others areas. Moreover, we cooperate with authorised real estate agencies in Western Serbia to find real estate properties for our clients.

We provide legal assistance to the establishment of all types of legal entities in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and in cooperation with accounting agencies, we provide support to legal entities in tax consulting.

At the end of this year we are celebrating 30 years since the establishment of the office.

What inspired you to become a lawyer?

Dusan: I have always been interested in law, I also think it is good to be able to help people with their challenges in life. I believe that the legal profession is the most beautiful, the most independent profession in the world, which gives freedom in every sense. Of course, the continuation of the family tradition had an influence on my choice of profession as well.

MARIĆ Law Office strives to contribute to the community in which it works by providing Pro Bono legal aid and social activism. We are especially proud to be the only law office in Western Serbia to do so.

In addition to performing the legal part of the business, we work hard to promote tourism in Western Serbia, especially Loznica and its surroundings, to attract as many domestic and foreign tourists as possible, and to get acquainted with everything this part of Serbia has to offer. That is why in August 2022 we launched a new type of tourism here, known as glamping, and we founded Drina River Glamping.

What is glamping? Could you elaborate more on this new form of tourism?

Dusan: Glamping tourism is a growing world trend in travel that combines the incompatible - nature and luxury, and is gaining an increasing number of supporters in the world and in our country. The way we travel has changed. People no longer want a one-dimensional vacation in which they will be mere extras in nature, but to merge with it, which contributes to the fact that glamping is increasingly popular.

What is interesting is that the word 'glamping' was first used in the United Kingdom in 2005, later to be included in dictionaries in 2016, thus glamping can be one of the connections between Serbia and the UK.

In Western Serbia, 120 km from Belgrade and Novi Sad, 2 hours away by a car, there is Drina River Glamping, the first accommodation of this concept in our country. Located on an area of ​​1ha in a poplar forest, on the banks of the Drina River, surrounded by greenery, Drina River Glamping is ready to welcome all adventurers, nature lovers, and hedonists to provide complete peace and privacy to all its lovely guests.

What are you looking forward in the forthcoming period?

Dusan: In the coming period, due to the volume of work, we are planning to expand our law office by including more lawyers.

As for Drina River Glamping, we plan to expand our accommodation capacity, as well as enrich the content and additional activities in glamping. We strive to be the best glamping accommodation in this part of the country, with the most activities. We also plan to strengthen the glamping community in Serbia and connect with as many glamping sites around the world as possible.
